| Born
in Faro,Portugal in 1962, is a passionate enthusiast for the sea
life and underwater photograph. For the last 20 years, he has carried out
more than 1700 dives along the Portuguese coast and on various
other locations of the world (Red sea, Mediterranean, Indian, Pacific,
Atlantic) during which he captured on film the life and the emotions of
the Ocean.
He has organized several underwater photograph exhibitions and published his photos and articles in diverse periodicals and magazines. He was responsible for the underwater photograph in the book: 4th Ecological Guide-book of Ria Formosa, dedicated to the gastropods molluscs . He is co-author of the book: South-western Coast Sea Macrofauna, dedicated to sea life in the South-Western and Vicentina coasts of Portugal and the author of the underwater routes included in the book Algarve- Natural Routes ,published in 2001. He was one of the organisers and participants in the expeditions to the Atlantic underwater seamounts : Expedition Atlantic Wild Seamount Gettysburg 98 , Seamount Ormonde 99 , Seamount Ampére 2000 , Seamount João Valente - Cape Vert 2001 and Northwest Seamount - Cape Vert 2002,Gorringe Bank 2003. More recently he was the author of the photos in the Algarve species identification field guide, from which work he is also co-author. He is
one of the founders of the Wild Atlantic Association,an organisation
which purpose is to divulge the knowledge of the Oceans.
